pre order issue 11 now!

Heartbreaks and renewed husband-hunting; labour strikes in the strangest places; and political sidelining that comes with consequences; the characters in this, Extra Teeth’s eleventh issue, are fighting back against the forces in their worlds.

Whether it’s trying to care for a loved one far away, turning rage and hatred into pure lust, or striking out in places that have been made alien, these stories are full of boldness and agency— published alongside essays that consider the meaning of home, language and how we belong.

Featuring some of Scotland’s best emerging and established writers alongside exciting voices from further afield, the twelve stories and essays that comprise Issue Eleven of Extra Teeth are all translated into brash and beautiful graphics by Glasgow-based illustrator Agnes Boman.

Extra Teeth appears in glorious physical copies only to celebrate the timeless power of print.

Pre-order Issue Eleven here, and add one of our merch bundles to further support the magazine, and haul your books around in the hottest tote bag in Scotland.

Don't let the redesign fool you; this, our tenth issue, is Extra Teeth as you know and love it. We're just a little older and wiser.

Amidst these pages you'll find movie star doppelgangers, experimental air flight, science rooms and grey aliens. You'll consider a reckoning with 'home', a confrontation with a 'black man's heaven', the pressing heat of a Pakistani monsoon, the complexities of living within Palestinian bodies and families. We'll take you inside relationships on the brink, brief encounters, and assessments of what's happened to a place and a people.

Featuring some of Scotland’s best emerging and established writers alongside exciting voices from further afield, the twelve stories and essays that comprise Issue Ten of Extra Teeth are all translated into dreamy graphic visions by Scotland-based artist Natasha Russell.

Extra Teeth appears in glorious physical copies only to celebrate the timeless power of print.

About the illustrator

KMG is a Scotland-based artist who has been creating work on the street for over two decades. She was brought up steeped in the stories and tales of Northern Scotland. Inspired by the Celtic folklore stories that have shaped her own cultural identity, her work is created to celebrate, revive and reclaim the mythologies and history of oral story telling that are often overlooked and forgotten.

Her work explores how marginalised communities have been impacted by different social agendas and the effect this has had on our cultural legacies, connections and landscapes. She develops bespoke workshop programmes, created to engage with people across the lifespan, with the aim of informing and inspiring local communities to explore oral storytelling in their area. Through visual representation and art, people are enabled to create a visual identity of their own unique culture and heritage.
